About

Dance. Fly. Run on walls.

Off The Wall Aerial Dance was founded by Becky, Charlotte and Grace, three dancers and aerialists based in the southwest in 2019.

Their work focuses on vertical dance (wall running) as well as other dance and aerial practices and explores the wide range of movement that can be discovered by both floor based and harness based techniques.

They create performances and workshops that embody a sense of empowerment, flight, experimentation and artistry aimed to leave audiences and participants feeling enthused and exhilarated.

Mission

We aim to put our own unique stamp on vertical and aerial dance, fusing contemporary dance practices, twisting perspectives and growing the way vertical dance is seen and accessed. To work towards developing the diversity of engagement with vertical dance within the South West.

We are driven to inspire imagination, intrigue and the child-like spirit of humanity that resides in us all.

Upcoming Shows

Our live shows literally flip dance on it’s head. Defying fear as well as gravity,

“I had the best time! I wish I could do more of it. Just had the best time and had great support from everyone. Thank you.” – Workshop Participant

Taking Flight Workshops

Encouraging confidence and empowerment using aerial equipment to test, challenge and build teamwork with feet on and off the ground.

Enjoy games and activities designed to spark joy and push comfort zones in a safe, welcoming and supportive environment. We believe that everyone can harness their inner sense of strength and take flight.

We will be working within specific community groups to deliver these pilot workshops in the aim of developing a wider programme of taking flight workshop events.

“We were gently introduced to our silken slings and warmed up in such a way that trepidation was replaced with temptation to actively try everything that was suggested. However unthinkable moments earlier” – Juliet (@theoldmorturary).
